In September 2017, Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated hosted its sixth biennial On the Hill Summit under the theme “Our Families Matter.” Held in Washington, DC, the purpose of the Summit was to demonstrate that Jack and Jill is an influential African-American organization that brings substantive and legitimate issues related to legislation affecting children to congressional leaders for their review and consideration.
This year our summit advocated for gun control, civic engagement and racial profiling, among other issues. Our workshops and programming featured five extensive workshops “Align”, “Activate”, “Act”, “Acknowledge”, and “Advocate”, the “State of the African American Family” panel discussion, as well as a Carole Robertson memorial legislative breakfast.
We thank our 2016-18 National Legislative Committee for their tireless efforts in planning an enriching and inspiring event!
Here are a few of the many memorable moments during our four days together during the Summit.
