Regions

In 1948 the idea of dividing the organization into a regional structure was initially put before the members at the Third Annual meeting of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated held in Washington, D.C. It was suggested to shorten the travel time to annual meetings, allow more time for discussions on issues by all of the membership prior to attending national meetings and allow the inclusion of children at the meetings.

In 1957, at the Annual Convention held in San Francisco, the Regional Plan was fully adopted. Today there are seven regions which comprise Jack and Jill of America.

Eastern Region

The Eastern Region is the largest region in the organization — made up of 59 chapters in 8 states and the District of Columbia. Over a quarter of our membership is from the region with a high concentration in the New York, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC metropolitan areas.

Far West Region

The Far West Region is represented by 28 Chapters, with over 1,100 mother members located as far north as Anchorage Alaska and south as Tucson, Arizona. Our chapters are located in the states of Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, and Arizona.

Mid-Atlantic Region

The “Marvelous” Mid-Atlantic Region consists of 32 chapters representing over 200 families and 1,000 members. From the mountains to the coast, the foothills to the sandhills and all the beautiful terrain in between, we are proud of the steep heritage and history found in our great states of North and South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.

Mid-Western Region

The “Mighty” Mid-Western Region began with the founding of the Columbus, Ohio Chapter in 1945. Since then, the region has expanded to 40 chapters in 8 states.
