AARON D. FORD
Dr. Aaron D. Ford is the Majority Leader of the Nevada State Senate, elected to this position in November of 2016. He is the highest-ranking African-American elected official in the state of Nevada. He is also a Partner at the law firm of Eglet Prince, where his practice concentrates on product liability and catastrophic injury litigation.
Senator Ford has represented the greater Las Vegas area (District 11) in the Nevada Senate since 2012. Before becoming Majority Leader, he served as Minority Leader during the 2015 Legislative Session, was the Assistant Majority Whip in 2013, and previously served as chair of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources, vice chair of the Senate Committee on Education and member of the Judiciary Committee. Senator Ford was the primary sponsor of legislation requiring body cameras on all Nevada police officers who come in regular contact with the public. He was recognized as best Senate Freshman by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Rookie of the Year by the Reno Gazette Journal, and Senator of the Year by both Nevada Political Action for Animals and the Nevada Conservation League for his work during the 2013 Nevada Legislative session.
A native of Dallas, Texas, Senator Ford is married to Berna L. Rhodes-Ford, Esq. Together, they raise four children, Avery, Devin, Aaron II, and Alexander and are proud members of the Las Vegas Chapter.
